What is a Student Council?
- It can provide an opportunity for pupils to voice their opinions and offer suggestions in relation to different aspects of school life.
- It can encourage and promote initiatives from the pupils.
- It can act as a channel of communication for the pupils.
- It can encourage pupils (and thereby parents) to organise events central to the life of the school.
- It can provide an opportunity to raise funds for the school or charities.
The roles and responsibilities of our Student Council are
- To act as a student liaison person to voice pupils concerns, ideas or opinions and offer suggestions in relation to different aspects of school life.
- Occasionally meeting and greeting special visitors to the school.
- Welcoming Junior Infant pupils to the school.
- Helping to organise charity events.
- Running, in school competitions, such as art/writing competitions.
- Involved in the running of special events such as Grandparents day/bake sales.
- Promoting Gaeilge throughout the school.
- Delivering news that is important to pupils through newsletter.
- Promoting health, safety and wellbeing of pupils.
- Promoting the Catholic ethos with student council members leading prayers at assembly
The Student Council
The student council was formed 4th November 2020 and its current members are

- Chloe McNerney – 6th Class
- MJ Dunne – 5th Class
- Molly Collum – 5th Class
