Active Home Week 2020
Due to Covid19 our planned Active School Week was cancelled. Instead our school took part in Active Home week.
About the Challenge
The aim of this initiative is to motivate young people to keep active at home by trying out NEW activities, taking on CHALLENGES and having FUN with family activities. To complete the challenge young people, have to find four different ways of being active every day, making sure that this adds up to 60 minutes, or more, of physical activity. All members of the family are encouraged, #Together, to take on the challenge.

Our Active Home Week 2020
As part of Active Home Week we ran a Step Challenge to encourage our students to keep a track of their steps each day.
All of our students had an Active Week chart to encourage 60 minutes of exercise each day. These charts were filled with great activities that families took part in at home.
All students were encouraged to:
- Find 4 different ways to be active each day.
- Make the activities fun.
- Try some new activities.
- Have a Virtual Sports Day.
- Join in some active challenges or make their own!
There was great participation and everyone came up with lots of great active ideas while staying at home.
Some children sent us fitness videos of circuits and obstacle courses.
Other students incorporated fitness activities into their work on the bog!

We organised a Virtual Sports Day for 2020 as part of Active Home Week.
Children were given lots of ideas and resources to hold their own sports day at home.
We loved seeing all the fun the boys and girls (and their families) had hosing their own sports day.
